Looking for a little bit of advice... my mum has been diagnosed with cancer today, it's spread to her lymph nodes which need to be removed. She has severe liver damage so is chemo an option?

Hi Ash. Sorry to read about your Mum's diagnosis. I think it best you speak to your Mum's or even your own doctor who will be better qualified to answer your question than anyone on here. No one on this forum is medically qualified to give you information such as this. But when you do find out I would be very interested in knowing the answer myself.

All the best to you and your Mum

Hi Ash89

Sorry to hear about your mum, I've had cirrhosis for 9yrs, I had Bowel Cancer 5yrs ago, they told me I could not get Chemo as my Liver would not cope, they did however do a procedure called a Liver Tipps ( like a stent) in liver, they went through the Jugular vein, had my op for Cancer and I'm still here after 5yrs,

Don't know if this would help your mum, but worth asking the surgeon/doctor if this would help,

Hope it does, all the best for your mums future xx
