Just want to say how pleased I am to stumble across this forum......so helpful and informative.
I am a 53 year old male diagnosed with cirrosis in February 2017, my fibroscan score was 38 I think. The cirrosis was caused by having Hep C , which was sucessfully treated in 2010 and exasperated by fairly heavy drinking up til January 2017 when I stopped drinking completely.
Unfortunately I had a 3cm lesion on my liver show up on a U/S scan in early November. confirmed by both CT and MRI scans later in the month.
Fortunately for me the tumour was picked up early enough and to cut a long story short, I have been placed on transplant waiting list. I have just completed my second round of TACE on the tumour, the first round being successful.
I am under the supervision of a wonderful group of medical staff.
So all in all Im feeling rather fortunate, as things could have been so much worse.
Im now just starting to come to terms with the transplant side of things, but must admit Im scared having read some of the stories on here and now realise this is going to be no walk in the park.
Hi Paul sorry to hear your on the list and as you said it's scary but so worth it and the thing is everyone's journey is different but everyone who has received a gift will say the same thing it's worth it 😊
I hope you are feeling ok apart from everything are you in the UK ?
Sorry to hear about what you are going through. Have you considered alternatives to improve your liver while you wait for transplant. It’s worth the research.
Reishi mushroom, green tea, raw honey, and tumeric in an empty stomach every morning. Reishi mushroom is documented to lower viral load and improve the liver function and honey is an anti viral as well.
