Ramipril?

Does anyone know if Ramipril causes further elevated liver enzymes? I was prescribed this medication by my nephrologist to help with the protein in my urine, however since I had slightly elevated enzymes presented in my last CCB I want to be extra careful in what I put in my body.

I was prescribed ramipril for years. Just like yourself i had proteinurea. It didn't have any significant affects on my liver. If your doctor is recommending it, i'd have no concerns taking it.

I developed a hacking cough while I took Ramipril which lasted about 6 years. I could be heard coughing at one hundred yards. The DRs tried most things to stop my cough. I then saw a new GP at my practice who said that as an experiment they would take me off this medicine. Within a month my cough cleared up, never to return. My sore ribs though had disguised the approach of NASH, which was well established by the time it was detected.

all the best Bob

The gp says that it is unlikely that it will raise the values, but if you read the prescription of the drug, it advises monitoring liver enzymes, I have liver failure and mine increased with ramipril.
