Is it true you dont get pain from the liver ? If you do what kind of pain is it. I keep getting short sharpish pains under my right cage only lasting a second at a time thencomes and goes :/

Whilst it is true the liver has no pain receptors of its own so you can't suffer liver pain, the liver though is enclosed in a membrane called the glissons capsule when the liver is enlarged or inflamed it can stretch this sheath and that can cause pain, as can an enlarge liver pressing on neighbouring organs. When my hubby gets 'liver pain' he describes it as a dull ache or a stitch like pain.
There is a nerve that runs down both sides of esophagus called the vagus nerve (even though there is two) when things get inflammed it pushes on this nerve and it can radiate out to the back or down ect. I have this after I eat especially fatty or hard to digest foods. I still don't know which organ it is.
