Hello there,

I know that you are looking for reassurance and you are understandably worried. There is only one way you can get a proper explanation and that is by going to the medical team who ordered your test. They can explain your results as only they will have a complete picture of your circumstances.

If there is any other advice or support you need there are many, myself included, who have a lot of personal experience of liver disease and we are always happy to listen to and help with any worries you might have.

Sorry if this isn't really what you were asking, but you do need to go back to your medical team for an opinion on your test results.

Let us know how you get on.

You do need to discuss this with your medical team. The ALT/AST look high and these can indicate inflammation of the liver but this isn't the sort of thing that can be casually diagnosed on a forum. There are many reasons for inflammation of the liver so you need to have a proper consultation.

If you are a heavy drinker stop drinking, They'll ask you to do that anyway and then likely retest.

Seriousness only your doctors can advise on - taking everything else including scans/further tests into account - but YOU should take them seriously. The liver does have a huge ability to repair and regenerate if whatever is inflaming it stops.

Very best wishes.
