Hi All.. I am a 51 Year old overweight female just diagnosed with cirrhosis. I had a Fibroscan this Jan. 2017 and my result was at stage 2. They had a terrible time doing the test-took three technicians. My most recent score was high- cirrhosis. I have fat in liver over 300. Any thoughts why such a big change. I am thinking the first test was not accurate. Can a lot of fat make score of kpa higher? Thanks

Hi bandit, im afraid fat and sugar and alcohol and long term use of meds will have an impact on the liver. My fibro is f4.living with cirrhosis over 9 yrs now. Your doctor or specialist should be the ones to go over your care plan .

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if fat in liver can alter Fibroscan kpa score? Changed my diet-no processed foods, no sugar etc. Had abdominal CT scan that was also clear.

Not sure to be honest. Anything can affect a fibroscan reading , it can change on a daily basis just like a liver function test. Best thing to do is discuss with your consultant. I have never had portal hypertension but im still end stage fibrosis. Wished i could help more sorry
