Hi all. I have been reading posts for awhile now but this is my first post. Everyone seems so kind and helpful here
I am 41 years old and discovered about 7 months ago that my GGT is 145 and it has persisted upon multiple retests. I do not drink alcohol, have a BMI of 19, follow a mostly vegan diet (dairy is NOT my tummy's friend) with fish a couple of times a week and have always loved exercise. I do not take any medications that are known to elevate it. Because it is an isolated elevation (all other labs are normal) my GP said "not to worry about it". I did keep worrying and so pushed to see a GI specialist he also said not to worry about it and wouldn't order the tests for NAFLD because he said even if I did have that all he would recommend are lifestyle changes and I am already doing everything he would suggest. What to do now...???!

Sometimes there is no explanation, I've had high liver function results for years and no cause found. If your Drs aren't worried just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
If it was NAFLD then your whole lipid profile - liver, triglycerides, cholesterol etc would also be raised. So your Doctor is right to say not to worry but continue being healthy etc and no doubt they’ll just keep retesting you to ensure nothing else changes. I would mention again when it comes to 12 months and ask for a retest. I’ve had NAFLD for 14 years.
I'm not sure but I think I read that gallstones could cause high blood results not sure if it's that one though
