Just had fibroscan test done, result was 7.8 which is slightly higher than normal as I understand. Can any one confirm this and any advice on reducing it to normal would be gratefully received. I have an appointment with consultant in 4 weeks!

I think that most here will say it's really down to your consultant to review as he or she has the full picture and will be better equipped to make conclusions and discuss accordingly.
Exercise, healthy diet, no alcohol is probably a good move. I drink a fair amount of lemon juice in water but that's just me.
No a lot, running late with a back log to clear. I have since looked up the 7.8 on the net with a link from this site and 7.8 looks more like fibrosis rather than cirrhosis. 7.0 is a target and they will check again in a year. But it seems more positive than the initial diagnosis from the consultant on the ward.
I did spot a mistake on my notes, they had my unit total for the week down as a day! which may have coloured their opinion.
Still teetotal. Drinking a lot of diet lemonade (cloudy) and tea.
Looks like you've caught it just in time. I would not drink ever again and be healthy. It should reverse over time. Assuming diet or alcohol was the cause.
