I have nodules in both lungs. I have been under surveillance for 4 years. I am 83 and have never smoked. The largest nodule 4 years ago was 9mm and is now 12mm. My consultant wanted to discharge me but his "team" decided not and I am now to have a PET scan. A bit puzzling. Would welcome observations.

Hi,
I think you may be in the wrong forum I'm afraid.
This is a liver disease one.
I hope you get your answers from a specific group

I think as they have grown slightly they want to make sure they are nothing sinister. I also have a couple of lung nodules that have pretty much stayed the same size over the years so I just have chest cts every 12 months.
Have they referred you under the 2 week wait?
Thanks Mama 41. What is the "2 week wait"? I am to have a lung function test and a PET within the next few weeks and then to see the Consultant again in 4 weeks. All this seems quite urgent, yet the Consultant would have discharged me but for his team's intervention to the contrary which is the puzzling bit.
