Mean platelet volume?

Mean platelet volume? 7.3fl out of a range of 7.5 and 12.5 was my result. Still having liver pain and I'm told my liver is fine. Feels like it's on fire at times with odd feeling of skin surrounding it as well as my fingers.

I have cirrhosis due to hepatitis C and my platelets are consistently low at 130 k/uL normal range being 150 - 450 k/uL . Have you been checked for thrombocythemia or thrombocytosis ? Sometimes the symptoms your describing such as high platelet count are linked to blood clots and bleeding. They include weakness, bleeding, headache, dizziness, chest pain, and tingling in the hands and feet. I would ask the doctors to look further past the liver.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply much appreciated. I got my results just as my doc was leaving for vacation for 2 weeks. Needless to say I'm bothered by this a low mean platelet volume. I also have a high albumin at 5.2g/dl. The funny thing is doc told me my results were fine however when I received the email from the lab mpv, albumin, and ag ratio in the red with a note stating talking to my doc is a good idea lol. People could give a shit these days.
