Is this Terry's nails. I have lots of other symptoms too!

I would say that those are perfectly normal nails - the lunula (half moon shape) is clearly visibe whereas in Terry's nails the whole nail bed appears completely white with no lunula evident. Even if it was Terry's Nails this is no longer a diagnostic tool in liver disease. If you feel you are displaying symptoms and have concerns you should visit your doctors for some blood tests and possible imaging scans to see if there is something amiss.
They have definitely gone lighter in colour and also have striations on them! I'm having other issues too, such as muscle twitching and a feeling of something stuck in my throat. It all started in Dec when I got dull ache in my right shoulder blade which I still have to this day!!! I've lost 30lb in weight since then although I wasn't eating properly because of this pain. I have now gone back to normal eating but am really struggling to digest any fatty foods. I have noticed that my urine is dark especially in a morning but also my stools appear orange! Would this be classed as clay coloured? I also have some red spots on chest area and my fingers and feet are bright red. My eyes also have yellow fatty deposits in them.
Haven't been to the go as I'm supposed scared
No the pain isn't noted to be triggered by anything just comes on and off. It usually occurs most days. I have read right shoulder pain is common with cirrhosis although mine is under the left shoulder blade.
I also have started to have blood when brushing teeth and the gums have receded and are a lot more sensitive.
Thank you for replying!
Sorry should have said right shoulder blade not left
yes its right shoulder blade with gallstones also the dark urine weightloss and pain and the toilet can be a horrible color too.also hard to digest fatty food there are so many illness;s with the same symptoms it quite unbelievable. iv been sure i'v diagnosed myself at times with the worst illness's and thankfully i'v bee wrong its okay once you have been diagnosed and good for finding people places and other things. first though please see your doctor. love grace xoxoxo
Thanks grace!! What's ur story did u have gallbladder problems? Xx
Hi kljo. You really need to make an appointment to see your doctor as all this worrying isn't doing you any good. Your nails look fine to me,maybe the index one is paler. I've had a lot of gallbladder issues and my nails are totally Terry's nails lol. We all think the worst. Most doctors are brilliant and can put your mind at rest. Hugs Sam X
Hi,
As the other followers have already said, it really would be a good idea to visit your own doctors and discuss your symptoms. They can then advise you accordingly.
Best wishes,
Rebecca
Before I had my gall bladder removed I had a pain that was either in my right shoulder blade or in my back between my shoulder blade. I had dark urine and clay coloured stools. The pain got worse when I ate fatty foods. Your symptoms sound similar to mine. I had damage to the bile ducts leading from the liver to the gall bladder they took out the gall bladder and connected my liver to my bowels. I think you should visit your doctor and get it checked out.
I had something like that.
Thanks I thought with gallbladder I would experience sharp pain in the chest stomach area which I don't!!!
have you had a look at symptoms of gallstones? not everyone gets the same symptoms and infact i had so many and felt so ill i thought i had some terrible terrilbe illness. i coudnt write down about my gallstones as you asked as im not feeling well today and its such a long story. i had/have mirizzis's syndrome. please you must go to your doctor what is stopping you going, i cant understand someone feeling iike you and not going to your doctor. love grace xoxoxo
Any update?
Hi Kljo,
Hope you are doing okay.
I found your profile a couple of years ago, and have been following. Your symptoms sound a lot like mine (feeling of muscles vibrating, throat discomfort, abdominal pain, weight loss, bright yellow urine, orange stools, petechiae and cherry angiomas, nail striations, sensitive gums, hair loss, and more). I never had the shoulder pains, though.
There has been an improvement in my abdominal pains and orange stools (although I still have many other symptoms). I still occasionally get yellow stools (connected to the yellow urine, I think). I wonder if the orange stools along with abdominal pains were due to ulcerations in my intestines, since I saw a journal photograph of a portion of small bowel of a patient with intestinal ulcers, and the ulcers were filled with an orange mucus. Don't know the reason for the ulcerations, though, if that was indeed what was happening.
Have your symptoms improved?
