Hello, I have never posted before but wanted to ask if anyone suffers with awful muscle aches and terrible sweats. I am also finding it really hard to gain any weight. Can anyone tell me if a the readings from a fibroscan are totally reliable.
Thanks any advice would be appreciated.

As far as I aware, the fibroscan is reliable at giving them one piece of information, the elasticity of the liver. You don't say what you were hoping it would tell you. It is of little use posting numbers on here, since it depends what you have wrong with you in terms of liver disease as to what the number means.
I have pasted something that I found by googling, that may be of some use to you, since it does state that it depends on your condition as to how reliable it is, something I didn't know. Hope it is of some use to you:_
"In the UK, scans such as FibroScan are recommended for monitoring liver health in people with coinfection. FibroScan is not a perfect test and does not work for everyone.
Disadvantages include:
It may be too difficult to perform and results may be unreliable in people who are obese or who have ascites. Ascites are a build up of fluids in the abdomen and are a symptom of serious liver damage.
It may overestimate damage in acute HCV.
It is less sensitive at detecting small differences between mild or moderate liver damage.
However, FibroScan it is very sensitive at picking up severe damage. "
Muscle loss and weight loss are horrible, I struggled with my weight, I have to take on board a lot of carb's and also the dietician has me on 3 extra nutritional supplements each day, my weight has increased slightly, but I think this is down to water retention.
It feels like every time I work out a muscle group in my body it is stripped away in days by my body. I had sweats but these have passed since taking the diuretic pills, so I assumed they were linked.
Yes my GP did, without them I was in a lot of discomfort. I then notified the transplant co-ordinators, I'm in clinic early Feb so not sure if they will carry on or change the one I'm on, it's working that's the main thing and not causing any side effects.
