The  British Liver Trust is delighted that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has today accepted evidence on behalf of patients and has agreed to the use SIR-Spheres® Y-90 resin microspheres as a new treatment  alternative to existing therapy for patients with inoperable primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma or HCC). We are getting a number of media calls on this and if you have HCC and would be willing to speak about your experience please email me asap Vanessa.hebditch@britishlivertrust.org.uk or call 01425 481320. At the moment we particularly need someone from Leicester and Nottinghamshire

Glad to read this.  I follow a blog of a lady in the US who treated with SIR-Spheres about 5 years ago and still has no evidence of recurrence or de novo.

I dont currently have HCC, had a successful resection 5+ years ago, so have experience of HCC but not of any existing therapy apart from surgery.

Great News for those who still battling with HCC! - Wish it had been possible for my husband who had HCC but the specialist did not wish to do any treatment due to the decompensated liver. ..... and now it's too late.
