I have been taken off esa and gone through the appeal stages to no avail. I feel so exhausted by all this I can't go on. I am waiting now for my eviction letter for rent arrears.

I think that there is something fundamentaly wrong with there procedures. Almost Gestapo like. And to over rule hospitals and doctors is abissmal.

Thank you Mellow one. I want to be Mellow 2 xx

in reply toPhil_7

I agree. You must feel so cheated and somewhat rejected.

Why would you like to be mellow 2?! 😆

Appalling,Sorry to sound political, but Jesus Christ, battering people on benefits, soup kitchens, food banks in the 21st Century, hit the weakest most defenceless members of our slowly collapsing civilisation,I don't think this is why most of our parents fought against tyranny, selective victimisation in the early 40's for,on a daily basis,I feel ashamed and disappointed with my Country/governers,its bad,its really, really bad.And its time we stand up and fight back and declare 'enough is ENOUGH.

Phil_7 profile image
Phil_7 in reply tocityman62

Hi Cityman, I totally agree with you. It is about time we fought back !! What the government is doing to the sick and unemployed is not humane and it's no wonder mental institutions are bursting at the seams. I believe that there are a lot of young and old people who are suffering in silence because of there rules. I'm 62 and on the scrap heap as far as work goes let alone my medical condition. There is a deep prejudice against the unemployed and sick, something has to give and fighting back is the only way to get a change.

Have a good day and I hope you are feeling well.

Phil.

I agree; in my view, its simply evil what is happening to the sick, the poor and the elderly ; i read about a woman who was refused ESA and died a few days later! then there are those that commit suicide. I know someone in the wrag (work related activity group ) who in no way whatsoever could possibly work! they can barely walk let alone work; then i hear about new claimants and the government gonna bring a new law, sort of getting rid of the wrag and giving them the same as people get on the dole! It sickens me to my stomach....So, are they saying you must go on the dole? not even the wrag ? Do you live in private or rented accommodation? If its council...get down there tommorrow; offer to pay in installments, even if only £2 extra per week; as you will be getting less money now, you may not have to pay any rent at all; maybe a fiver a week. If its private remember....if the landlord takes it to the high court...they can turn up at any time and throw you out....... Do you have any family you can stay with?? or who can give you a bit of help re your rent?? Do you live alone? If you have kids the council will have to put you up somewhere. What also infuriates me is how people on benefits must also pay council tax now! Mine is £20 a month! I am personally awaiting the outcome of my medical and its a constant worry and stress; 6 weeks ive been waiting now .

I really feel for you.

I agree, if we all stood up and done something; the government would have to change; its so bloody unfair an nasty and cruel. Kicking people when they are down; beyond belief.

Hi Sussieanna, at the moment I am not in receipt of any benefits, I live in housing association and have no family to help me or friends. I heard they want to make esa the same money as jsa. Also I heard that in 2014 a high percentage of people taken off esa died shortly after. I can't find any stats for the present or last year. I have chronic hep C and a heart condition I have acquired within 6 months of being taken off esa. I told esa and supplied them with a strong letter from my GP but they say I am still fit to work!!! I have hospital appointments that go up till April. I have no more energy to fight them. Fighting them is like a dog chasing it own tail.

I hope you have good news with the outcome of your medical, which they term a inquisitorial, using a broad stroke of a brush, and any mistakes they make they term it as "a slip of the pen" so they well cover themselves. When I had my medical I asked the person what sought of doctor they were and she said she is a physiotherapist not a doctor !!!

Anyway Sussieanna be lucky and take care.

i was put in the WRAG; am gonna appeal.

in reply tosusieanna

I agree with all the above.

What exactly is it this rotten corrupt bunch of Tory bum holes want. I go on at some length else where on this forum about the legacy of those who died in two world wars to ensure freedom from tyranny. These days the tyrants are in power, and doing every thing they can to rub our noses in it. The economy is, as Ed Balls used to taunt Osborne with, flatlining. Even Henry Ford , hardly a radical socialist, undestood that if he paid his workers a decent wage they could afford to buy his products. The only conclusion I can draw from the way these people behave is that they are either stupid, corrupt, or just plain evil, or all three. They only got 34% of the vote but won thanks to our rigged election system.

See your local MP I had the same problem and she sorted it out for me. I'll keep on banging on what I said before the General Election vote Tory and you will regret it and I bet there's 1000,s now who are. The Conservatives don't care about anybody except the rich and their "friends" in the City. I country needs to wake up and call a General Strike because when the rich and powerful start losing money then the Tories will l!stem to the working class. I wonder how Cameron, Osborne and their cronies sleep at night.

Phil_7 profile image
Phil_7 in reply tojimboriley52

Thanks for that Jim, I will look into that tomorrow. Have a good day.

susieanna profile image
susieanna

i agree jim; they sleep at night cos they dont give a toss about anyone but the wealthy. thats outrageous but doesnt surprise me; contact the housing association tommorrow; make appt to see them; take all ur medical stuff with and evidence; explain whats happened; you must also get to the job centre to claim dole asap for now; u must do this urgently tomm; or, as u know, u wont even get housing benefit. as jim said contact ur mp or local counsellor re ESA and whats happened; from the sounds of it, u may even qualify for PIP. But first things first; if u tell me where u live; eg the town, im happy to look it up for you re the local MP/ Counsellor.

Dont give up; i know its so hard when all is against you and they are rotten scum doing this to people.

Write a list down today of all u need to do; most important; dole office and housing benefit/ your housing association. Then MP/Counsellor.

Thanks; they are so nasty to people. Words sometimes fail me.

let us know how you get on.

Are you a member of the benefitsandwork organisation? Not sure if you are allowed to leave an internet address here but use the above term suffixed with dot co dot uk if you catch my drift. It does cost a moderate sum to become a member but I think there is some advice for free. There are plenty of stories there about how their advice has helped people to win appeals. Good luck

Philip.........you can easily contact your MP through the web site called "write to them" not sure if it is .com or .co.uk. I have Hep C and I understand how exhausted you are. You MUST get some support........you are very likely far too exhausted to feel you can cope and keep fighting this. Perhaps you can PM to tell me how you contracted Hep C, what area you live in, and I will give you the contact details of the Hep C support office too. I am in Scotland so I may not have it. I will go and look it up right now for you though and send it to you. Please let me know the above details asap.

If you do have the energy to go and see your MP then go along to their open surgery as soon as you can.

Much love and hugs.

Be Strong and do all the other things that people have suggested like the Benefits and Work site and go see the Housing Association too and tell them your MP will be dealing with it for you.

Love and Hugs from

Hep C support group page bottom left is a "Support for your area" button but don't hesitate to ring the main support number as well. They will be sure to put you in touch with the best person who can help you.

To write to your MP:

writetothem.com/

All the better if you can go see them or ask them to visit you. MP's have a "Duty of Care" for you. So make sure you do use them to help you.

Bye for now.

Keep Strong.

Make sure you see the Housing Association URGENTLY to prevent another massive ordeal to cope with.

Love and Hugs

PS Don't forget to let me know how you contracted Hep C. This is very urgent. Xxxx

Dear Twinkling Star,I don't know how I contracted hep c. I was diagnosed with it in 2010 but only just found that out. In 1996 I quit a18 year H habit so maybe it was sometime then??.
