Hello Tammy, the British Liver Trust have a page covering alcohol & the liver including a downloadable leaflet at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

Best wishes, the most important thing is to look after yourself going forward, good, healthy balanced diet, exercise and no booze. Fatty liver is generally seen as reversible with an improvement in lifestyle.

Hi

I too definitely swear by Milk Thistle it is an amazing thing for helping to heal and regenerate an abused liver, there is a new technology in manufacturing Milk Thistle it's called phytosome technology it helps the body absorb more of the active ingredient. You can get a pot of 60 for around £15, would def reccomend it. Stay off the alcohol and it's possible you can reverse the damage before any scarring occurs. Good luck!!!

Yes agree with Bolly NO remedies, just life style. I don't know the properties of milk thistle but I know that professional advise is no remedies.

The best remedy for me was doing exercise as Fatty Liver is basically the liver storing excess sugars. Go and exercise walking an hour a day for a month (if you have the time) and by using up calories you will be helping your liver immensely.

Milk Thistle I don't know how that is measured but why not take it is well as the exercise.

Good Luck!

Just be aware that some milk thistle in liquid form is sold via UK health shops in a dilute alcohol! So avoid that. TBH I think your focus initially should be on reviewing your nutrition rather than buying milk thistle. Try and cut out sugar from your diet, start trying to cook everything from fresh and if you do buy processed foods read the label and try to avoid all those 'hidden' sugars.
