Hello,

kidneys are doing ok now and platelets are up... The cathater is out and he is going to the toilet...

The doctors are very happy with his progress...

He has an open wound, its where the stitching is and has leakage there so needs it padded quite a bit, worried about that a bit...

Thoughts still with you both, great that he's progressing. I'm sure the wound will heal in its good time.

Love to you both.

Hi Pear, hubby had a transplant in July. Wound leaked also to begin with, was told that was normal because of acities. As long as it's kept clean, dry & covered it should be fine. John was on co-trimoxazole an antibiotic post op. Wishing you both all the very best xx

I am so glad to read your news, You are both in my thoughts every day.

You comments are also very enlightening to those of us still waiting

Good luck and I am sure 2015 will be your year

Thanks for the regular updates Pear. Please don't worry about the open wound. It is quite normal. Mine leaked at the scar intersection for about 4 weeks & was regularly dressed by the district nurse. As Mike asks, what about you? Please try & relax & look after yourself. You both have so much to look forward to now so go on, treat yourself. You deserve it. Happy new year to you both. Bill.

I am travelling everyday to the hospital by train. I do not think I would be any good on the road as a driver as I feel that I need to sit back and let someone else do the driving. I feel supported by the other patient relatives around me... I think you are so prepped for something going wrong, that you almost keep expecting it...

Having to take care of him as well as the home/kids and his mum, is taking its toll on me... I have managed to start taking some me time out but have only realised how tired and exhausted I am whilst reading your replies...

We have been together for over 20 years... I am now introducing myself to a new person who Im not quite sure about... He is so much more emotional and sensitive... I am more scared that if I get used to this guy then the old one creeps back in I wont be able to cope...

I know Im rambling... Sorry...
