Morning

You will cope. You will just find yourself living from day to day waiting for the call. It will get easier as it becomes part of your life for the next, however long it takes for you.

Good Luck, we've been there done that and come out the other end..

You will cope chick. My partner knew eventually he would need transplant due to injury but it's still a shock when you are told. Have you had your appointment through for assessment etc.? You will find lots of support on here and answers to any questions . As said before you go about your day to day business with it in back of your mind. Try not to build your life around is the call gonna come today. My partner had the call day after went on list and when he rang and said guess who called? My answer was I ain't got a clue then the realisation of "Oh !!" There are a lot of pre and post transplant patients and families on here . Just stay strong and keep in touch xx

I agree--it does become about day to day. But after the transplant life is wonderful! :)

I was on the transplant list for 18months.I say this not to depress you but to say I had to be patient and never give up hope. I believe waited for a longer time than is usual and at first every call was eagerly answered, however in time I became nonchalent, and accepted what will be will be. Over this period I relied heavily on my wife family and friends who gave me added strenghth. If I did this then so can you. I asure you that things will become easier as time passes. You have all my wishes for a successful outcome, whenever it occurrs.
