Hi it's been a year and a half since I got told I have liver faluire. I have a stabbing pain in my side what shoud I do it's really sore
Arrange to see your GP and get your bloods taken to see if anything has changed. You may need to go back and see your specialist. Good luck. X
Unfortunately, the pain in your side is all part of the disease. The best thing to do is get yourself to the doctors asap. Have you been recommended to a transplant team for assessment?
I agree with the other replies. If you have been diagnosed with liver failure have you been placed on the waiting list for a transplant? If so contact the liver unit immediately. If not you need to contact the unit which diagnosed the problem urgently. Good luck.
If lft's are okay and liver ultra sound is clesr why the terrible pain in my liver ?????
The liver itself doesn't have any pain receptors, but if your liver is enlarged, it may put pressure on other tissues/organs/... in the area which causes liver pain below the rib cage on the right side of your body. It may get worse when you take a deep breath. In general, your doc sees the enlarged liver in ultra sound. Other deseases may cause similiar symptoms (gall stones, gastritis....), so you need to be checked by your doctor. Do you/ did you have an acute or chronic liver failure and do you know the reason (autoimmune, viral, toxic...)?
Yes I would most definitely get more answers from your doctors, after all its your health that's at stake, I also noticed that someone posted about turning yellow to be put on transplant list can anyone help me on this I have Nash cirrohsiss portal hypertension and varices, in Jan 2013 lost 5 pts blood due to massive GI bleed turned yellow as a daffodil and my family told I had liver failure, not once have they mentioned being put on transplant list even though I am under kings college liver unit, can anyone help on this thank you and keep well.
