Hi Anita. I have just taken out an over 50's plan with Standard Life (you know, the one featuring Michael Parkinson). But never looked at any other provider.

Might be worth checking with goodtogoinsurance.com which is a fairly new travel insurance provider but who are underwritten by well established insurers. They say they were set up to cover the gap in the insurance market relating to the provision of travel insurance for the aged as well as the cover of virtually all pre existing medical conditions including things like liver disease and cirrhosis and heart problems etc. I have recently taken out a cruise policy with them that covers my cirrhosis with ascites and encountered no problems or hastles when doing so and the premium is lower than most others I looked at. The service was also speedy and efficient. I haven't had a transplant so do not know what their attitude is to that but as I say it may be worth making an inquiry with them and it doesn't cost you anything apart from your own time to do so.

Good luck in your search for cover

Regards

Thanks Will look into it. Have been to a specialist brokers for people with medical problems but they couldn't cover me.

Thanks Martin will probably look at the over 50's ones next year if not able to get anything else. Have taken out a n insurance to cover funeral expenses with Cuba as there were no medical questions needed. That just covers funeral though.
