It’s been a while…
Reran C25k for the 3rd time and graduated in November. Did another 2 or 3 runs, then the weather turned, stuff happened, the December blues kicked in…and I went into hibernation!
So this Group Plan was just what I needed to get me out of my running slump. I’ve done all 3 versions of the Plans…the first time I did the timed Magic Plan…most suitable for a snail like me 😊🐌
I followed up with the distance version and successfully ran a few 10k after that. After completing C25k for the 2nd time, I chose the NRC plan. Now I don’t like to think I’m missing out on anything, so I chose to run *all* the runs…it took me a lot longer than 8 calendar weeks! (Because, of course, I had a rest day…sometimes 2…between each run).
This time, I think I’m leaning towards the Timed Plan, but using NRC runs. I haven’t run 5k since last April, and the Distance Plan and NRC both seem to hit 5k pretty quickly…so I’m playing safe!
So…apologies for the preamble, let’s get to the run!
Friday 3rd: beautiful sunrise, cold sunny morning. Decided on a simple Recovery Run around the local Boating Lake. I thought I’d leave the short run for Sunday…hoping to fit it in before the bad weather broke…I didn’t 🙄
I picked the 20 minute “Best Run Ever”, and fired up some Pink Floyd on Spotify to help me feel the laid back vibes 🙂 …and it was great. A gentle couple of circuits taking in the views, then a walk back to the car for stretches. Of course, afterwards I realised I’d planned to continue on for another 10 minutes to count it as the 30 minute run, but hey ho I guess this week will have an extra run 😂🤷🏻♀️
