AUGUST QUEST WEEK 3….how’s it going?

Good evening questers…I hope you are all well? I can’t believe we’re already in week 3 of the August quest!!!? We’ve all been waiting so long for the summer to arrive that August has whooshed by!!

How’s your quest going? We had some great questers last week…with some really good quests…how are you all doing? Did you manage to stick to your plan?

I have to hold my hand up and say mine didn’t really go to plan…I haven’t been out as much as I’d like…but…I have a new Garmin watch because I broke my last one, I’ve missed it so much because I loved the Garmin plans and the Jeffing plans that are available..don’t get me wrong I like my Apple Watch but I proper missed my Garmin so when my new one arrived on Friday I was a bit excited!!!

mum forst run is either going to be in the morning or on Tuesday when I don’t have to start work too early…I do like going when everyone else is still snoring but sometimes it’s hard to crawl out from under the covers…but I’m going to try my best…so…my quest is to get 3 runs in this week…and a couple of walks..I will let you know if I manage… 🤞🏼

If you’re new to the quest, here’s how it goes….

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.

Some popular goals are:

🌼🌺To run three times a week

🌼🌺To slowly increase distance

🌼🌺To train for a specific race

🌼🌺To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine

You need to be a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! If you want to join, all you have to do is COMMENT BELOW with something like:

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in! I want to ..............

Let me know what you’re planning & I will be clapping and cheering for you

Have a great week everyone

MC

🍏🤣 Such a fun picture! Thank you for cheering up my day  Mummycav I had a wonderful back massage yesterday to celebrate stepping up to 4000 steps & coping so it’s now time to push out the boat to 5000. However I didn’t get a swim in as it was far too busy with kids. This week will go earlier. Exercises not too good either so need to try harder! Xx

Hello! I think I’m fully back from illness!

Ran my week 5 run 3 (return to C25k) yesterday, and this morning went for a community morning indoor row! And felt great all day!

Although it took a good couple of weeks to recover from my illness, I feel great now, at maybe 85% of my former fitness but 100% feeling fit!

Next run tomorrow morning.

So for the rest of this month, for me is to get fully back to 100% and plan in another holiday break, replacing that cancelled short family holiday break!

Oh well done CBDB ..I’m glad things are improving for you and well done on your run and row!!! I have absolutely no doubt that you will be back to 100% in no time x

Thanks Mummycav once again for another quest and what a fab picture I love it !

Anyway I’ve managed to run twice one this morning and both times not far I might but I got out there and of a couple of walks, well really warmup walks and cool down walks with some stretches for each run.

So tomorrow as you know I’m off to Yorkshire for a week visiting my brother so even though he did say I could take my running gear if I wanted to run while I’m there I’ve decided that catching up with him is much more important and my running will be waiting for me on my return home.

So I shall be walking places so that will be my exercise.😂🥰xx

Ooh, a new watch Mummycav ! I wouldn't run without mine so understand how lost you'd feel without the old one!

Regarding the Quest, I've not quite managed three runs a week but not too far off - 7 runs in 18 days - so I may be able to make it up by the end of the month, given we've got 31 days in August.

Keeping speed and heartrate down is going really well. The last couple of runs I haven't hit the maximum zone (5) at all! This is all new, the runs are slow but it's really good not to feel knocked out afterwards. I've even done a couple of 5ks and a 6k because I felt like it.

I've run more km this August than in any August since I started running so I'm really pleased with that.

I even think I may have lost a pound or two in weight. I bought some new trousers and the first time I tried them on, about two weeks ago, I worried that they were a bit clingy but I wore them the other day and they fit perfectly. I haven't actually weighed myself for a very long time but I've been trying to avoid snacks so maybe it's helping.

All in all it's going really well on the running front this month. Hope everyone else is reaching your Quest goals and surprising themselves with how well you are doing :)

Sounds like it’s going great guns for you Yesletsgo …snacks can be a problem can’t they?! Crisps are my vice..I absolutely love frazzles…I treat myself now and again to a packet…and then I run….maybe that’s the way forward for me??!!! 🤣🤣

You’ve got plenty of this month left to get hit that target…I need to get at least 8 runs in before the end of the month otherwise I’ll be sulking…let’s go!!!!

Hello everyone! It feels as though I've not been fully kermitted over the past week, distracted by admin of monstrous proportions (and the exasperation of other administrative entities not doing what they should do so I'm hanging around waiting) I am sure some of my quest activities could probably have helped dispel negative feelings... but so does staying in bed with a good book....

So, no run at all, aaarrrgghhh.

Not enough yoga (but I have signed on for a full year with Ekhart Yoga and am reminding myself that their meditation and relaxation sessions count)

More happily, I've been on top of my 'average 10 minutes/day brisk walking' - or at least I was until yesterday so need to watch that.

And with the pelvic floor exercises (which are 3 times a day) I had a perfect Week 2, somehow missed a single session for Week 3

Also very happy to report that a previous quest (and one which I commend to all of you) to get my will made is now complete (it's especially important for us because one of our sons needs a vulnerable person's trust) I can die slightly happier.

The real Mummycav is on it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Love that you have a new Garmin! It's great setting it all up and having loads of faffing time to get it how you want 🤣🤣🤣

My quest is going well and I'm doing my s&c almost every day (I've only missed one day so far). I'm not sure I've noticed any difference yet but I'll keep plugging away. Marathon training is going well and I'll run 15m/24km tomorrow morning. I'll think of you as I'm on it and it'll spur me on. Looking forward to another week of getting things ticked off and being grateful I'm in good condition and able to keep going. Here's to another week 😎😊🙌
