I didn’t set out to do this particular interval workout! In fact, I was going to do a 3K run, but I set off too fast. I wasn’t concentrating. By the time I looked at my watch, I’d already been running for about 5 minutes so decided on a change of plan. I enjoy doing that sometimes 😀
I’ve done this Nike Run Club workout before and I like it. 7 minutes running at 5K pace followed by 2.5 minutes walking - to be done 3 times. Now I have trouble plucking my 5K pace out of the air! It varies so much, so I just run quite fast 🤣 Works for me! Definitely ended up running faster than my 5K pace though.
Rather than faff about trying to find this guided run on my mobile as I was running, I just used my watch to time it. It worked well and I enjoyed it. I would have liked the stats for the running segments but didn’t have a workout set up on my watch ….
It was a lovely morning to be out running, although still humid. I certainly had a workout and made sure I did my stretches afterwards. Now for coffee! 😊🥵🏃♀️☕️

Very nice 😃 it's good to go with the flow, it makes things more interesting. I really like that run too, it's challenging enough that you feel like you've definitely had a workout but with enough breaks that you don't feel wiped out afterwards 👍 well done, enjoy your coffee ☕
Well, I've bought a new swimming costume so I must be intending to! My left eye is swollen due to severe hayfever so when it settles down I will take the plunge, so to speak. I was also checking out spin classes but really can't work up any enthusiasm for that and they are in the evening, plenty of time for me to make excuses not to go. So just yoga at the moment. I'm really impressed with your progress Jools, you are back on it 😀
Oh yes, new swimsuit! First step 🤣 Hay fever is awful - the pollen count must be high.
Anything you can do to help your fitness will be helpful. Yoga is good. I really must do something other than walking on my rest days. Swimming would be great but I’ve never been to the leisure centre and just can’t pluck up the courage to go on my own.
I do think I’m getting fitter although it’s sometimes a struggle to keep going! Really look forward to my ‘no effort’ runs 😊
Yeah, I'm struggling to get myself to the local pool if I'm honest. I like swimming but hate the 'palava' of getting changed, showered etc. I do prefer to go on my own though then I can go at my pace, same with running. Each to their own. I can understand it can ve daunting if you are in a new area though. 🧜♀️
That looks like a lovely run Great picture. It's so hard to set off slowly isn't it! The excitement of a run after waiting for 48 hours is just too much. Usually after a couple of minutes I'm like, oh - oh, done it again, slower slower Enjoy that lovely post run feeling!
Yes, it is hard! The scene in the photo is typical for here. Although quite built up, there are lots of paths like this through green areas, often with houses on one side.
