Oooooh. My little Garmin 45s watch. Only recently got one since I began running 8 months ago and it's brilliant!

May well have to be a 2021 purchase?

in reply to Lucyintheskywith

They are really reasonable and such a great way to look at details etc. You deserve it.

I’d go with Aftershockz as well. Brilliant.

Love mine... totally worth the £

Also aftershokz headphones but also shorts and leggings with big enough pockets for a phone. I absolute loathe running belts! I love my watch too especially since I can download music on to it and don’t even have to run with a phone. And I love love love Hoka shoes!

Which leggings do you buy ?

You can get the forerunner 35 for less than £100

Fitbits are inaccurate. You need a garmin!

Neither am I . I can’t even see the screen in daylight and you have to press a button to tell the time. Timer is ok though and step count. I bought it because i can swim with it and it counts my laps

Fully get where you're coming from.. screens are rubbish.

Oooh, interesting question and actually quite a tough one for me as there are a few things.... But, if I had to pick one I'd say my Runderwear underwear, it is so comfy that I forget I'm wearing any 😱🤭😁🩲

Lucyintheskywith profile image
LucyintheskywithGraduate10 in reply to Forest_Run_Beginner

I've heard that mentioned before....

Good to know ☺😉🙃

It is pricey but they do have discounts fairly regularly and once you've experienced chafing, no price is too high 😱😱☹️☺️🩲😊

Whatever my most recent Sturdy by Design purchase is, currently some long shorts, but that could change. I think I have a slight problem...

Anonjie hydration vest, Garmin forerunner, Aftershokz, heart monitor strap, can’t decide between them which one is best. As for doing without one of them for a run 😱 even wear hydration vest if I don’t take water as need all the pockets for dog paraphernalia, tissues, phone, first aid kit, buff etc 🙄

Lucyintheskywith profile image
LucyintheskywithGraduate10 in reply to Setters

Wow that's a lot.. how much weight are you carrying too? Do like the sounds of extra pockets though !

Setters profile image
SettersGraduate10 in reply to Lucyintheskywith

Not weighed it but don’t notice the weight even when carrying a litre of water, vest fits really well and if you have straps done up firmly it spreads the load and doesn’t move when running.

How far are your runs ? I'm varying between 2 to 10km

Having just done my first HM, am aiming to keep fitness going over rest of summer and winter then ramp up training early next spring to see if I can do faster HM time. Whilst HM training was doing 2x 7-8k runs and one longer run 10-18 k per week, depending on what week of training I was on. Have just signed up for a virtual LEJOG run, and aiming to do 28k per week so I can complete the 874 miles in just under a year.

Just bought some Afterschokz - waiting for them to arrive! I'm normally a 'naked runner', no music, but need something to keep my motivation going on runs & walks. The basic Garmin Forerunner 35 is fab and Sturdy by Design make comfy but funky gear!

Lucyintheskywith profile image
LucyintheskywithGraduate10 in reply to Slinkymalinki

Aftershokz's are fantastic, you'll barely notice you're wearing them 😃

happysouls profile image
happysoulsGraduate10

I would agree with the Aftershokz, they're amazing. However the question would I run without it...yes! I've actually stopped using them completely the last couple of months. My runs take me into beautiful countryside and I've just started preferring to lose myself in my surroundings and enjoy the quiet and the birds. But then I'm not attempting to keep up any pace particularly, more just ambling around happily!

I know the feeling.. in my defence I'm currently using audiofuel bpm via spotify for running coached sessions to keep me company running..

Really glad you’ve said that, I’m waiting on delivery of these after my Bluetooth headphones decided they had done enough on my last run....

My Garmin vivoactive 4s - plays music and gives me stats that I use while running eg pace, distance, time, cadence. Looks great and is small enough for a v small wrist! Expensive but I abs love it. If you aren't fussed about music you can get the vivoactive 3 way cheaper.

Shock Absorber bra. I've tried the rest, these are the best 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️😁😁. I also love my wee Ron Hill arm pocket for when I'm not wearing a jacket with pockets.

Lucyintheskywith profile image
LucyintheskywithGraduate10 in reply to PandaCory

Useful information.. I've had shock absorber recommend before, how do you find their sizing? Is the Ronhill arm pocket an arm strap?

PandaCory profile image
PandaCoryGraduate10 in reply to Lucyintheskywith

I just buy my usual bra size & it seems to work. The arm pocket is just that - a little lycra fabric sleeve with an extra layer to make a pocket. Costs about a tenner from A**z*n - just search "Ron Hill stretch arm pocket" (sorry I don't know how to paste a link & other suppliers will also have it I'm sure). I find it to be much better than the more common strap type.

That's another thing I've learnt..

So silly! they are not in the least functional and don't need a battery, but they make me get my shoes on and start out of the door. They are my shocking pink girly running socks. I always want to put them on, They are labelled R and L just like toddlers mittens. I don't know whether that makes a difference but I would never put R on my left foot. They are so comfortable, all the right thickness and stretch in all the right places. They are my best motivator and they get a 'thank you' when I get back home. (Now starting to talk to socks is a little bit worrying! )

Lucyintheskywith profile image
LucyintheskywithGraduate10 in reply to Gwyrdd

Not Silly at all..

I agree I've " more mile" very bright long socks also labelled L and R ( you can't wear them on wrong feet; you'd realise straight away). Socks are as important as training shoes I'd say!💞
