My energy really did dip during the second half. Any advice?

I’ve been neglecting my warm up to save time. If I do a full 5 minutes at a very brisk walk my entire run is much better.

Rigpig is right that a good warmup helps. Due to the cold in the Scottish highlands I do these nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... exercises before going out instead of the walk. I’ve struggled on my last week of runs and realise that as I’ve been away from home I’ve done the exercises then driven 15/20mins to my running position so maybe not so run ready. Also while away I wasn’t so hydrated and was eating hotel food. Do any of these things help identify your problem. Could of course just be one of those runs. Happy running

Would you consider a banana before a run and are you keeping hydrated 7 days a week

All great suggestions! My routine hasn't changed much although I am eating less carbs than before...I'll defo drink more and have a banana or something before I run again. Thanks all!

I find doing the first half a bit slower & upping the pace in the second half stops me flagging & my overall time and speed is better.. but we are all different & some runs are more energy sapping for reasons we can’t fathom!
