W2 6k run done and ... seemed hard no idea why though hard to find a nice route at the moment as my area is underwater - need to try running in fins maybe!

Cant seem to get the breathing right - starts terrible so I think I wont manage 5k then eases up but always seems to be the sticking point for me - any suggestions?

Well done on 6k under water. Hope you and yours are safe. I know your now on the 19k forum but same goes - are you running too fast? Maybe the colder / damp weather is affecting your breathing. Take care and try a slightly slower run.

Thanks GrannyToe - my prob is I suppose that I find if I run slower it feels harder work on the legs - so I just go for a mid point that feels right if you know what I mean.

I think jogging round sodden fields filled with puddles and and cow poo doesnt help either - sounds silly but you have to lift your legs that little bit higher to get over clumps of grass etc and it does make a difference.

May have to go out on the bike and look for a new route!

Well done on your 6k. I repeated that week and am making myself run slower and do find it helps.

I agree with you though, I find it harder running on grass. My local ParkRun absolutely exhausts me for some reason.

Hope you manage to find a better route.
