My homework run was one minute running followed by one minute walking or slow jogging, repeated 10 times. So that was run/walk, obvs, and oops I only did 9 repeats (Garmin operator error π) But, I got out and did it and I really didn't feel like it. And as always, I feel better now π Next session of my 5 to 10 course is on Thursday, I'll report back!
Intervals done, phew!π: My homework run was... - Bridge to 10K

Sounds good, so I thought I would like to try it.However, the first challenge was setting it up on my Garmin 35. Even with a printout from I/N I can't fathom out how to do it. There is no hope for me!
It wasn't easy (Garmin fiddling that is)! I went into outdoor running, then run mode - intervals. Then activity - running then type - timed 1.00 Then new activity rest, type timed 1.00. Then repeats 10.
Saved that so it's ready to go.
I walked to the playing field and started it up, (same process to get to intervals) it shows Run, beeps 5 times as it counts down to zero, then buzzes for end of section. Does the same at the end of each section so you're ready to stop or start. Then I walked home, so I didn't need to add a timed warmup or cooldown (thank goodness)!
There is also a run/walk mode that I haven't tried.
Simple. Hahahaha(slightly hysterical)
Thank you , looks so simple!!!! I will give it a try when I have calmed down after my last attempt, (next week probably), and let you know if I managed it. I often feel that the technology is more challenging than the running, I might have to go back to counting steps!
Takes longer to explain it than to do it, if it's any comfort π¬
Thank you for the detailed instruction, I managed to set it up and try the run out this morning. Much harder than I thought it was going to be, so plenty of room for improvement!

Well done you! Both for the interval runs and the Garmin Conquering! A veritable champion. π

Well done Grumps. JogRunSprint is much easier than Garmin manipulation and free on IPhone . Well done for working it out !!

Good for you - I do my intervals on a treadmill at the moment - no thought involved, I just watch the minutes
Where's the fun in that?!π Oh that sounds so easy, I might have to join a gym for the winter. Seriously that's food for thought π€
I don't do the eyeballs out sprinting on the treadmill as I'm too scared, but I do get a good clip out of these little legs
plus you see your speed and can up it just that little bit from time to time
My nice interval is 1 min walking, 1 min jog, 1 min faster jog and 1 min sprint
repeat 5 times
I find I sprint faster when I know I can drop to a walk after rather than thinking I need to save for the jogging after (me talking myself into it)
Always been too scared to try a treadmill, but I'm old and ugly enough to be a bit brave now. I really like the sound of that (nice?!) interval But mainly I like the idea of not having to set up the garmin Seriously couldn't do your interval on it!

Good on ya...there seems to be a few of us struggling with our enthusiasm recently but at least we're still getting out there. I blame the change in the weather π€
