Well I don’t just think it, I know i’m Not a whizz kid but I’m just so pleased to be able to run 10k. Never in my wildest etc etc
Anyway ran 10k for the first time 2 months ago (thanks JuJu) tried another one last month - just nice and steady and I ran 2 mins faster! Then last week when I thought I might try again I felt quite tired and stopped at 8k. Discovered I was running too fast when I saw Fitbit ie 7 mins each K....
Thanks for letting me ramble on ... I’ve noticed I am slowly developing speed and am very proud when I run 5K in under 35mins.
The main thing is how good running has made me feel and has changed the way I feel about myself as an older woman - and how others see me. Amazing! Thanks everyone!

What a fab post and I agree so much about how running can help you feel positive, purposeful and indeed powerful as an 'older woman'.Like you I tend to run too fast for the long ones and have to pull back but love getting a fast 5k in once in a while.I've done the 10k twice now too but had to take a break recently.Back out there this week and feeling good.Have a great week!
Well done under 35 minutes for 5k isn’t slow in my humble opinion! It does make you feel good doesn’t it 😃 sometimes I feel like buying a T-shirt that says “as unlikely as it seems I can run 8k” 😂😂
