Hi Cheeky yes I know what you mean itβs blowing a gale here too and forecast is for ore and stronger winds should be interesting tomorrow at parkrun π
Same here, itβs like winter has arrived all of a sudden. Glad I ran yesterday. BUT, it didnβt stop the post lady delivering my new running shoes. Will open them after coffee..... ππ
It's the same here cheekychipmunks, we're being lashed by storm Callum and it's forecast to last two days! π³
I'm not running parkrun tomorrow due to a night out but that's just as well as I'm not sure running in a storm would be very pleasant! Luckily I have the week off and had a mini break in Exmoor and went for a great run along a river yesterday.
Aww thanks CH. Have a great night out! You can enjoy it guilt-free!
Iβm still going to attempt Parkrun tomorrow and hope thereβs no headwind up our long hill! No joke, Iβd be running on the spot (or even going slightly backwards) judging by the speed I ascend it even without wind! π π π¨π¨πββοΈπββοΈππ
Iβm meant to be running my first parkrun tomorrow since graduating, donβt know of itβll take place, itβs quite blustery, all will be revealed tomorrow, good luck to all you hale and hearty runners braving the elements π¬π¬π¬
Hope you can still go Walshy, itβs the best fun ever. π I asked a marshal at ours whether itβs ever been cancelled due to weather, and she said no. Only when the park is being used for something else (festival a few weeks ago, for example). And I assume icy conditions - although it was fine last winter.
So fingers crossed for all us Parkrunners tomorrow. π€ Good luck to you - remember to report back and let us know how you get on! π
Will do, Iβm kinda dreading it, I always set myself a time and if I donβt meet it Iβll get annoyed, gotta remember itβs 4 yrs since Iβve done this! Iβll let ya know thanks ππ
I got a PB last weekend and I know 100% that if the wind stays up like this I wonβt get one tomorrow - and yes Iβll be annoyed with myself too! Running has made me so competitive, fortunately only with myself! π
Rest day for me too! I looked at the forecast and did my 10k yesterday. Will be spending most of tomorrow on trains and buses to get back to Scotland, so another rest day during phase 2 of the rain and gales! I did a hard yoga "strength" session today though - my legs don't know what hit them! Maybe time for some circuit training when I get home tomorrow. Thank goodness for dvds and indoor gyms during severe weather! Stay safe everyone
Hey cheeky, I'm on a rest day too. In fact as my runs have got out of sync this week, it's a couple of rest days, in prep for my park run in the morning.
I'm hoping it's still on as I see a few have been cancelled due to the weather. Mine is through woodlands so if the wind continues it could be a bit tricky with fallen branches etc
I havenβt heard anything about ours being cancelled. There are some trees, but weβre on permanent paths so the footing will be fine, albeit with twigs and fallen conkers possibly. I get there early to give my dog a run off the lead before it starts, and Iβll be happy to kick things off the paths if needs be.
