tamoxifen and hearing problems

hi I have been taking tamoxifen 20mg for three and half months and I now have tinnitus and amplified hearing problems. My ears feel like I’m under water and need popping like on an aeroplane. Can anybody relate or heard of this? Thanks

I don’t think Tamoxifen has any such known side effects. At least am not aware if these happen rarely. But a chemotherapy drug called Carboplatin does occasionally cause this, but of course, within a few days of chemo and not after a few months. There could possibly be some other cause as well, best to let your doc review

You can visit your Medical Oncologist and see what he or she says.

Hi carol my wife took 5 years tamoxifen 20 mg which is given to control the oestrogen which is given to whom diagnosed with hormone positive breast cancer have no side effects like that what you told. Check with ultrasound nothing other infection there
