A general question...PET/CT includes a bone scan too or is it necessary to get a bone scan seperately to to check mets in arms n leg bones??

PET CT includes bones. No need to do any bone scan separately.

Sir wat do u suggest? My Pet/ct was clear. I hv some weird pain in my forearm since 20 days? So was a bit worried

Its better to get the Pec/ct and a separate bone scan for better accuracy. The bone scan where we live is called an RI Scan, but it may just be called a Radioactive Bone Scan in India.

A radioactive material (radiopharmaceutical) is injected into a vein, and then the Scan is conducted. It is specifically for the bones.

However, it is better to confirm the above with your breast specialist. Take care and good luck.

Bone scan does not add much info

As PET scan is much.more sensitive to pick up early innocuous lesions.

With more and more availability of PET scan machines, it is gradually.replacing Bone scan...
