You have taken cycles of chemotherapy for those spots on the liver. I am very hopeful that they will have worked well and I pray for a good report, in your favour.

PET will help us to decide, whether to continue with same chemo or not. In some cases, the spots become less, then we continue with same chemo. In other cases, they remain unchanged or they may also increase. In that case, we may consider change of chemo. That's why the PET is done. You don't worry. We all have you in our prayers.

I was first told to take 4 chemos then Dr. Raina said take 6 for safety, then why do I have to take more chemos Doc?

Depending on the type of chemo, the number of cycles may matter. I am sure he must have planned six initially. What he may have meant is, after four chemos, to re check and then to plan whether to give the remaining or not.

So, it's fine, let it not bother you. Let's see what the PET tells us, in the next few days. Let us hope for the best report.

Dear Rgci13

Dr. Shaw had explained you the medical aspect. If you can do close your eyes and take a deep breadth and visualize your liver is looking great. It is called visualization technique which will put your mind to ease. Sit in a quiet place. Dont fear. Just allow yourself to see healthy you. You can focus on your and think everything is alright and then go for PET scan. Mind and body had to wish the same for cancer to cure and not to spread. I will keep you in my prayers . This will help to ease your mind.

Think of the PET as your way of finding out early that your chemo is doing it's job. It is normal to get nervous before tests, as it is easy to think of them as a way to find the negative. They also show the positive. I like PK's idea of visualizing your liver beautiful, without the spots.

Hugs from another PK!
