Scary but reality of breast cancer in India.

Yeah, it definitely pains to see the situation. And it is about time we all come together and fight this out. If we start today, it is going to take another 30 to 50 years to see things changing, trust me.

One more thing, though unrelated but I want to mention here, is that WHO estimated about 70,000 deaths from breast cancer in India for the year 2012. The second is China with estimated 48000 deaths from breast cancer in 2012 and third is US with recorded 44000 deaths. So you can clearly see the gap in numbers. I also wrote an email to officials in IARC, WHO and they answered my question, that till date, no country has either recorded 70,000 deaths, or no country's estimates have crossed 70,000 deaths from breast cancer in any year in the past! India is the first to cross that number and it is rapidly rising!
