Sari4321,
Welcome to the forum. Feel free to be at home and ask any question. You will always get a solution here. We have wonderful members, who will guide you.
On one side, cancer coming back within a year will very much put you down, but, on the other hand, if you see, in your case, luckily, the recurrence has been only in nodes. Organs have not been involved which will suggest a better prognosis. And since yours is a TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer), you have been given Taxol + Carboplatin. Platinum agents have been shown to be very sensitive in TNBC. So do not worry, I would expect a good response with this chemo.
Just a few questions I wish to ask you:
1. Was this a Mastectomy or a BCS? I am asking because, if it was BCS, you would have received radiation. If it was Mastectomy, you would not need radiation, since it was T2 and nodes negative
2. Is there any family history?
Hi Sari4321 - really sorry to hear about the recurrence. One thing - don't let you be down in any circumstances - what ever the situation comes we will win - be positive.
On this forum you will receive a very moral support - do share us your progress and ask any questions Doctor Sumeet will help all of us.
hello.thanks to all.thanks dr sumeet.i had MRM.so no radiation.but now i regret not taking radiation. in my family my mother has tnbc .we both detected 2gthr .she is fine.in my maternal family some people had other cancer.my maternal aunt has er+ bc. she is fine too.
Sari4321,
That's fine you did not take radiation, because in your case radiation was not needed at all.
I asked for family history, because, TNBC in a young age has a higher chance of familial inheritance, compared to other types of BC. And yours is a clear example; since your Mom too has a TNBC, and an aunt has ER+ BC. It is essential, that other your siblings and others go for regular check ups with an oncologist, since they would stand a higher chance of developing this.
Also, I tell you once more, that you disease is restricted only to nodes, presently, and organs are not involved. So do not worry, just take proper chemotherapy and they will surely show a response.
In which city do you stay?
sari4321`- sorry to hear about your recurrence...but stay positive .. im 28 with TNBC....and i have seen my colleagues who are TNBC survivors and no recurrence for years....do not loose hope.....take your treatment completely
thanks to all. dr sumeet, yes i have hereditary cancer..i m based in kolkata.my MRM was done in mumbai..i m currently having weekly chemo.8 out of 18 completed..but my treatment is being delayed due to very low counts and recurrent uti...so i m really worried..
sari sorry to hear about recurrence ..but no worries we are all with you..think positively only..my wife is also TNBC and she is under treatment...only positive attitude help you to fight against this..so keep smiling...
Even if some delay occurs, that's fine. Really does not matter much, as long as you complete your course. So don't let worries touch you.
Be sure the urine is cultured so you know that you are taking the right antibiotic to fight it! Sending lots of positive thoughts across the ocean for your infection and counts to recover so you can get back to your treatments and on with life!
