My sister after completing the radiation is feeling very very tired and weak. Still not able to take the whole diet as previous. How many days usually it takes to feel OK. Is any special diet she should take?

When will the weakness and fatigue improve after completion of chemo and radiation

Some people have trouble with fatigue during radiation. It's important for your sister to know that it will improve, but everyone improves at their own pace, so she shouldn't compare her progress with that of others and feel discouraged if someone else seems to be getting over things faster or having less fatigue. She might want to ask her doctor is she should be on a neutropenic diet. If she has a low neutrophil count she can be more prone to infections. A neutropenic diet consists of well cooked foods and sometimes fruit with a thick skin to prevent her from getting sick while her counts recover.

I hope she feels better soon. Sometimes the side effects feel like they will never go away and then one day you realize that you haven't thought about them for a while and you are on your way to your new normal.

Sorry about the links. Try this one. It just worked for me, so I hope it comes up for you. If it doesn't let me know and I'll find something else.

After radiation, it usually takes a month or so to settle down fully. By the time radiation is over, one is tired physically, mentally, psychologically and emotionally. So to spring back does need some time, but all patients will come back to normal, like they were earlier.
Concentrate on a good balanced diet, try to have some form of exercise, walking and continue working. All these will help for things to fall into place
