I have recently had to come off HRT due to being diagnosed with Breast Cancer and as a consequence am having to deal my menopause symptoms again, specifically joint pain, some days I’m in agony. It’s particularly bad at night when I’m not moving & at work (I have an office job). I do exercise which helps but I was wondering if there was something I could take that would help, vitamins, herbal remedy? Any suggestions would be welcome.

Joint pain is a nightmare. Unfortunately not too much out there, but what has helped me is CBD oil. I got it in Holland and Barrett. Three drops under the tongue, but, it tastes vile... beyond vile infact. It leaves an oily residue in your mouth and seems to take forever to go. To be honest, it made me feel quite sick. So I now have a small pot of natural yoghurt and dripped it into that. It has a slight after taste, but after the 'under the tongue' experience, one which I just wont repeat, it was much easier to take. It has eased my joint pain quite significantly. It has taken a month or so to notice it but I am walking easier and feeling ok to be honest. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll certainly try this, even some relief will be a big help. I’m glad something has worked for you & thanks again for sharing.

I too had bad joint pain with letrozole came off it for 1 month to say the least after 5day all pain gone.I am now on anamastin and am still having joint pain to the stage where i think whats best.I take tumeric tablets and wit e and they do help.

Hi. Sorry you are having a rough time. Not sure if you believe in homeopathic remedies and it doesn’t work for everyone but may be worth a try. Pulsatilla and sepia for menopausal symptoms and rhos tox May help the joint pain. Hope it helps.

Hi Titch, sorry you're suffering too, horrible isn't it? I get pain in elbows, knees and ankles, not sure if its down to the Tamoxifen or a combination of that and menopause symptoms. I also find Turmeric helps a bit as if i miss taking it i notice the difference. I might give the cannabis oil a go, read a lot about that recently. Hope you find something to help you. love Hx

Some days are worse than others and the pain often moves around, so one day it will be in my wrists, then it could be hips or elbows, likewise some days are worse than others. I feel like I’ve aged overnight 😂 I’ve head Turmeric could help so will try this as well as it appears to have other healing factors too. Thanks for replying and sharing your tips, much appreciated.

Hi ladies.. just a word on the turmeric. I mentioned this before to my oncologist and he said I couldn't take it in supplement form only over my cereal or in good as my cancer is hormone driven and turmeric wasn't good for me so just giving the heads up. He gave me the same advice on soya!

Interesting. I’m recovering from breast cancer surgery, next stage of my treatment is radiotherapy, so I’ll check with my Oncologist, especially as my breast cancer care nurse told me it was ok to have soya food products. Thanks for sharing I will definitely double check.

I’ve checked this & turmeric is fine to take, in fact it’s encouraged if you’ve had BC as it’s known to help prevent it coming back.

Try Menomin- I find it very helpful for the moods/flashes. Joint pain should respond well to glucosamine. It did for me during chemo. Best of luck.

Yes I’ve heard Glucosamine is very good for joint aches, unfortunately I cannot take this due to the high sugar content as I’ve had issues with insulin in the past & have a strong family history of diabetes. I’m therefore open to any other suggestions anyone may have, thanks.

Sour cherry juice is supposed to be very good, I’ve only recently started, it was recommended by a nurse and has some great reviews

Hello ladies, just wanted to give you an update on my progress. I’ve been taking Glucosamine for joint pain the past couple months & am now pain free. Hoorah!!! I’ve also been taking CBD oil which took the final edge off, it’s also helped with other things like anxiety, sleep, mood & energy levels. I’m pleased to say I’m feeling much better. If any of you are still suffering then perhaps try one or both of these things as they may help you. Good luck.
