Hi ladies, I've only been diagnosed 2 days now. I'm in the UK. The consultant is pretty certain it's inflammatory bc because of my symptoms, swollen breast, inverted nipple and thickened skin. I'm due to have a PET scan soon to see if it's spread.
Will it be chemo next? I'm 43 with two young kids. Anyone here had this type of bc?
TIA x

your medical team will work quickly to decide what therapy is needed. Generally they have a multi-disciplinary team meeting to agree on what therapy is appropriate for each patient, so it’s not the best idea to speculate in advance.
The charity MacMillan publish some excellent booklets on BC. It could be an idea to give them a ring to get the right ones and to get their view on your diagnosis.
Finally, let me say I was diagnosed exactly ten years ago this week (slightly different symptoms to yours) and am well and happy.
Thanks for the helpful advice and reassurance! It's great to know that a medical team will work together to determine the best therapy for each patient. And thank you for sharing your personal experience - it's inspiring to hear that you're doing well and happy 10 years after your diagnosis.
