Splitting tamoxifen dose update...

Hello everyone,

Hope all as well as can be. I've just dropped in to update after my last post over 6 months ago regarding taking 2x 10mg of tamoxifen per day as opposed to 1x 20mg per day as supply of my preferred brand was becoming difficult to acquire in the 20mg. Anyway I am happy to report that my side effects have significantly reduced, I cant remember the last time I had a night sweat which I really suffered with before, I dont get headaches and brain fog nearly as bad. Only down side is having to remember to take 2 tablets a day, 1 with breakfast and 1 after evening meal, I do find taking them on an empty stomach causes upset. So if you are really struggling on tamoxifen and are on the 20mg tabs then it is worth considering taking these lower dose tabs split across the day. Before I tried this I was seriously considering stopping tamoxifen due to hot flushes throughout the day and night.

Thank you for letting us know. I'm post menopausal but on tamoxifen and have only just started this bit of the journey (November 1st). So far so good but always useful in case probs occur.
