Hair: Good morning, What do you all do... - My Breast Cancer ...
Hair
The first hair that grows is still affected by the Chemo & can be quite crinkly & dry.
Lots of Conditioner/Serum & keep getting it trimmed until it starts looking more normal.
Good Luck 🍀
Hi there Galgo
I used Rosemary and Cedar (or cedarwood) hair treatment from Neals Yard. Luckily it’s only £6.50 for a jar. You are instructed to put it on and leave it for half an hour before washing the hair, gives it a bit of time to work I guess.
I have had lots of compliments about how well my hair has grown back 😁👊. I am 25 months past my last radio treatment and my hair seems to have grown much more quickly in the last 6 months than the 18 months preceding.
Unfortunately my eyebrows are still sparse compared to before and my eyelashes aren’t quite what they used to be - they are about 75% theprevious volume - so I am delighted with my hair growth.
Good luck with it!!
Love from Debbie xx
Hi Galgo,
Use Argan oil - it is fabulous for hair and skin. I’ve had 3 lots of chemo in the last 4 years and about to start again, so my hair has really taken a beating. Argan oil is suppose to make your hair grow faster as well. As MrsNails said, the first bit is very dry and frizzy, but if you just keep rubbing in the Argan oil, it will nourish both your hair and skin. My hair is quite long again and I’m always complimented on how glossy, thick and healthy it is. You can order it from Amazon or various other places. Coconut oil is another excellent product that will help. Both argan oil and coconut oil are widely used in certain cultures for hair growth - it’s not very expensive either. I’ve used both - coconut oil is a great conditioner to rub in and sit in the sun for a few minutes to deeply sink into the hair, but as your hair grows longer, it can be a struggle to wash out, where as Argan oil you can leave in. 😊xx
Thank you I will try both xx
