I had a double mastectomy 10 days ago.

I am hoping my drains come out today. My question is, do they stich the holes? I'm worried about infection...

Hi Grisol, no didn't have mine stitched, they clean the area and cover with a waterproof dressing, mine closed over and healed really quickly :) Nix x

They will put paper stitches over them and out waterproof dressings on and give you instructions on how to care for them. All the best with your continued recovery xx

Thanks!

When mine came out,the area was cleaned and a waterproof dressing was put on,and they healed fine, very quickly.

It's so much easier to get around without the drains.good luck.xxx

Didn't have mine stitched they healed really quickly under a small dressing. Good luck you'll feel much better with them out.

My experience was the same. No stitches just a dressing. I too healed very quickly. Good luck with your recovery. X

I think I had stitch in the holes I cannot remember ! I had right mastectomy 7 years ago. I did get infection but had antibiotics and wounds cleaned and dressed regularly. Good luck on your journey 😁👍👍👌👌

I had trouble with mine but once they started to heal all was good. You will love the fact that you can get a good nights sleep without worrying about them getting caught or you rolling on them. Good luck.

Dear Grisol. I had my drain removed 3 days ago. No, they dont sew the hole. It's very tiny that the dr just put betadine and covered it with gauze anf plaster whih he said coulf be removed after 3 days and replaced with a wide band aid.
