Tamoxifen

Just a bit of a heads up, i went for an eye test today for reading glasses and was told that i have to go back to see them if i start having problems with my central vision as tamoxifen can cause problems with your eyes, on top of everything else !!

Thanks for the heads up on this. I was born with glaucoma, and following cataract surgery just over a year ago my eye rebelled and I went to the hospital approx 20 times last year. Ironically I was there this morning, but at no time has anyone at the hospital said that to me, when I have my next Optician visit I'll mention it to her x

My husbands cousin is on tamoxifen and recently had to have cateracts on both eyes, I was really surprised when I looked at side effects, and there it was about eye problems! I am on letrozole as post menopausal, that still has its side effects also! But suppose what's the alternative!

My optician recommended annual eye check ups whilst on Tamoxifen - worth knowing x

Same here, went for eye test for reading glasses couple of weeks ago,and optician referred me straight to eye hospital. She thought it was glaucoma, and pressure on optic nerve, but hospital said I have deposits on optic nerve, and will affect perifirol vision. Waiting on results from coincidental whole body bone scan, (renal issues) which should show it up as calcium salts. But got my new glasses in the end!

It is so wrong we are not informed about this, just another added worry xx
