Hi ladies booked for mastectomy on 5th June, I have had a bit of discomfort in my affected breast over the past couple of days, would describe it like a burning sensation has anyone else experienced this, is it anything I should worry about? Is it just coincidence, am I getting neurotic?

Do you mean January and not June, either way contact GP or Breast care nurse if only to stop you fretting at this time, I hope it's nothing serious for you xxx

Sorry yes meant Jan!

No, not neurotic - just normal to be anxious about things you are noticing. Could be lots of reasons. Any redness, swelling, fever? Try to notice as much detail as possible and ring breast care nurses. I'm sure they can offer you some reassurance. I developed cellulitis and needed antibiotics (but it was easily treated). If you can't get hold of the nurses ring 101. All the best.
