Sore feet....

I am experiencing very painful feet following my treatment. I had FEC-T, Herceptin and now in Tamoxifen. Oncologist says it isnt a side effect of this as it is not joint pain.

Has anyone else experienced this folloing treatment.

Oh yes, painful feet, skin shedding, numb toes and balls of my feet. General cramping in the soles of my feet, toe nails coming off and generally achy. I think you will find that many on chemo and meds go through the same thing. Hope your treatment is hugely successful and the aches and pains ease soon. Lainey66 x

My treatment has been very successful and now in 6 monthly checks.... Just wears me down not being able to do even the simplest of things.

Got an appt with acupuncture to see if that will help. Its a small price to pay xx

Hi Maz1965, I don't know if you're near one of Breast Cancer Haven's centres but it could be worth getting in touch and see what they can offer to help alleviate your side effects....I had numbness in my feet and found reflexology really helped.xxx

Hi Maz. I have painful feet and very stiff lower legs. I'm on herceptin and tamoxifen but it started when I started tamoxifen.......

I did not have herceptin. I did have tamoxifen. I have had alot of problems with my feet, achillles, stiffness. I do wonder if it is from tamoxifen as it is a cytotoxic drug.

I am on tamoxifen and letrizole and both give me painful feet, the only thing I find useful is keeping my feet raised when I sit down

Yes I have very sore feet, only I wasn't put on Tamoxifen, I was on a different one my oncologist has changed my medication I still have sore feet & joints but not as bad I have a better quality of life than before. They told me there are 3 different types of tablets they are all sisters to each other they are just trying different ones to find what suits me, good luck 💞

I saw the herbalist at the haven and she mixed me an oil to massage on it helped a little I also use aloe heat gel now my saw feet lasted a long time and I still have some numb areas I found it worse at night I think it is something you just have to work through but it gets better or you just get used to it

One good thing don't get sore feet after wearing heels anymore as can't feel them!!!

I didnt need chemo after surgery but have been taken tamoxifen for two months and have noticed my legs feel heavy? and my feet and ankle joints are quite sore especially first thing in a morning. I havent been passing urine as much as I used to and wonder whether it could be partly fluid retention... xx

I stopped taking Tamoxifen 2 years ago and my feet are still really bad. I had no chemo or other drugs, just tamoxifen. I sometimes thought I was just blaming the drug for my feet because I needed something to blame but after reading all your comments I am thinking differently.

It has got to be more than a coincidence that we all have stiff, painful feet. I have had and still have achillles tendonitis as someone else mentioned. Numb and painful heals and toes. Dropped arches. Painful ankles and dreadful cramps around my ankles. I also have alot of other ailments and I definitely think know my immune system is weaker than it used to be. Thank you all for sharing. Although I don't want you all to be suffering, it has helped me realise that this is not just me.

Lots of love and healing to you all.

Hi there

Yes. I experienced foot pain in tamoxifen and have had to have chemo, herceptin and letrozole again recently. The pain has all come back again.

I was told it wasn't caused by tamoxifen at the time but incologist told me last year that it would have been the tamoxifen x

Hope that helps in some way.

A referral to a podiatrist may be helpful.

Hope it improves for you.
