Brain necrosis, any cure?

Hi ,

My mother ,57 yes,was operated for a brain tumour 7 yrs back . The Dr had operated her really well ,and there is no residue there. It was diagnosed as oligo-stage 3. She went through chemo and radiations for entire brain. She was absolutely healthy for 1 year but started hallucinating for 1 week and her motor skills deteriorated. Dr concluded that she has edema because of radiations and there is no cure. We did oxygen therapy, homeopathy and what not but she kept on getting worse. She is currently on bed, rarely utters a word or two .Eats when fed and is on diapers. Her reports are all clear. Any suggestions if anyone has gone through the same situation, can anything be done?

Regards

S.

Hi Shailajaa

i too have some edema in my brain. To decrease the edema i took stetoids sugested by my oncologist. Has your mother been asked to take a small dose of steroids to help? I heard that radiation treatments can cause this but a scan would tell if it was decreasing or getting larger. My brain tumour was 2 years ago but your mum is younger than me. I would speak to the specialist nurse with some questions.

Best wishes

Hoggy
