People like you that make women feel ashamed and insecure of discussing their fertility issues. I know you were not trying to be insensitive but that was a super ignorant comment to make. Fertility issues aren't often due to stress of trying to conceive. It's great for you that you got pregnant and went on to have two kids but you have no idea what women and men go through who suffer from infertility. My fertility issues are because I have a condition of my pituitary gland. It had nothing to do with stressing over getting pregnant

I was diagnosed infertility when I was 20. It happened as a result of abortion. Before you knew you were infertile you were fine. Now that you know, you are in turmoil. That indicates that you are having trouble letting go of an attachment. Your infertility in and of itself makes no difference in the pleasure you can take in life. There were no opportunities for me to have children in a natural way. I searched for the clinic, which deals with IVF for years. I went to Ukraine as hadn’t so much money for the USA. After 2 attempts I became pregnant. There work very good doctors. They are really professional. I would never have thought that medicine in Ukraine can be on such level. I can advise this clinic to everybody who have the same problem. You will not be sorry. Their work deserves praise.

Well I completed the treatment and am feeling about 95% better. I am very optimistic that I'm on the road to full recovery though. Thank you for helping me with my illness as I am conviced that the herbs helped in some way. Here is some great news, my wife is pregnant with our first child. We found out about 10 days ago. We are very excited and are hoping for an easy pregnancy and a healthy baby. God bless sincere

Sometimes we become attached to things that don’t exist, so when we find out they don’t exist we react as though we were actually losing something. But you haven’t lost anything. You haven’t lost a child. You haven’t lost a relationship. You have simply gained some knowledge. It is valuable knowledge. Gaining knowledge about ourselves is a good thing but it often hurts. It hurts because it hurts to sever our attachments, even to things that are wrong. If we are attached to an image of ourselves that is incorrect, then when we have a chance to learn the truth about ourselves it comes with pain and a sense of loss. Before you knew you were infertile you were fine. Now that you know, you are in turmoil. That indicates that you are having trouble letting go of an attachment. Your infertility in and of itself makes no difference in the pleasure you can take in life. If you like children then go and be with children. I think you should find a good infertility treatment clinic. From above mentioned comments I can say that Ukraine is quite famous for IVF. So maybe you should go.

An ovulation problem occurs when eggs don't mature in the ovaries or when the ovaries fail to release a mature egg. This is sometimes known as premature ovarian failure. Ovulation problems are common in women with infertility.

Such things are dangerous not only for women`s fertility. Unfortunately I didn`t know about it some years ago. I`m a man and haven`t the possibility to become father…I was drug addicted for about 6 years; I took Methamphetamine or almost every day… I spent all my money in order to buy a new portion of drugs. It was so cool at first, until I met my wife and there appeared a desire to have a child with her. We tried about a year, and then, after unsuccessful attempts, we decided to consult doctors. Diagnosis was awful. I will never have children. We thought over IVF, but I`m not sure. This procedure is too expensive for usual people. My wife wants to go to Ukraine, there this procedure is cheaper. There`s a clinic which offers 5 IVF attempts for 10 000 euros without any additional payment. And reviews are almost all positive. Even here there are some people who was there. Probably it`s really good.

Thirty to 40 percent of women taking clomiphene citrate to induce ovulation become pregnant by the third treatment cycle. When fertility drugs to increase egg production are combined with artificial insemination, the pregnancy rate is between 10 and 20 percent per treatment cycle.

I thought that there was really only one: that you could NOT have children. But that isn't enough for scientists? They have to find others, just in case not getting pregnant isn't enough?

Infertility may be caused by blockage of the Fallopian tube due to malformations, infections such as chlamydia and/or scar tissue. For example, endometriosis can cause infertility with the growth of endometrial tissue in the Fallopian tubes and/or around the ovaries.

Although factors of female infertility can be classified as either acquired or genetic, female infertility is usually more or less a combination of nature and nurture. Also, the presence of any single risk factor of female infertility (such as smoking, mentioned further below) does not necessarily cause infertility, and even if a woman is definitely infertile, the infertility cannot definitely be blamed on any single risk factor even if the risk factor is (or has been) present.

just found out that our first if cycle has failed. We have a gorgeous 4 year old boy who we conceived naturally after 6 months of trying. I had help syndrome and had him delivered by emergency c section. Who knows if that has impacted my fertility? We started trying for no 2 after a year as we we're told to wait that long after such a traumatic birth. 6 months passed, no luck, another 6 no luck. Eventually persuaded my doc to refer me and initially had a scan. They identified I had a large cyst one of my ovaries so got booked in for a laparoscopy. The months waiting for this op we're horrendous, took 5 months from identifying the cyst to the op. Sod's law we fell pregnant 3 weeks before my op. Then I miscarried..managed to persuade them to still operate and when they did they found the huge cycst, endometriosis and my uterus was attached to my abdomen wall and would require further surgery.. This would mean more waiting! After lots of calls between insurance company and hospital I managed to get this done privately as they told insurance it was a health risk and nothing to do with fertility (as they don't pay for that). Had that op 3 months later and we were hoping it would 'cure' my infertility issues.. How wrong were we. 2 failed iui attempts, another miscarriage and d&c at 9 weeks and a failed ivf in just over a year is taking its toll. I go through those anger moments of not wanting to be around anyone with a second child or pregnant. I feel lonely and hate the 'be blessed you have one', being left out of conversations with friends on second children discussing their youngest like you haven't had a child so obviously don't know about babies! What to do now, how do I get over these feelings?

I am too so glad I stumbled upon this site. I feel like I can discuss this issue of secondary infertility without being judged for already having two children. I am 40 and a mom of two kids 8 and 6. We started trying for a third baby about 3-4 years ago (I've lost track as the years slip on by). After reading blogs for years of IVF, IUI, donor egg, adoption successes and failures I could never seem to find any discussions on secondary infertility and was afraid to put it out there for fear of hearing the standard response of "be thankful you have two"! Yes I am obviously thankful and grateful for my two beautiful children which I had absolutely no trouble.l conceiving either one! We tried for a third for a year or so before consulting and RE. That led us down the road of 4 unsuccessful IUI followed by acupuncture, 1 unsuccessful IVF, a few minor surgeries in between, Chinese Medicine and now here I am...... back to where I started. There is no explanation other than my age and low ovarian reserve which is the most frustrating part.lets hope for the the best.

I was diagnosed w/multiple factor secondary infertility in Oct. 2009, 8 mos. after trying unsuccessfully to conceive a 2nd baby starting in Jan. 09. My 1st child...a son...was born in June of 07. He was conceived naturally w/barely a thought. I was 31 when I got pregnant w/him & 32 when he was born, after a fairly easy pregnancy. However, 2 mos. before he was born we found out my husband, a military officer, had orders to S.E. Asia & we were to be transferred there in Sept. 07. I was shocked & not happy about it, as it came out of nowhere, & added a lot of stress to my pregnancy & postpartum period. We moved overseas in Sept. 07 & since we were only going to be there 14 mos., I decided I'd wait until after we returned to the States to attempt another pregnancy as we didn't have access to a US military hospital where we were & it would've been a huge hassle logistic's wise. We returned to the US for good in Nov. 08 & moved to the state of NM in Jan. 09. Immediately, we started trying for baby no. 2. It was the classic case of "oh the 1st one happened so effortlessly...2nd one should be a breeze!" Little did I know, how wrong I would turn out to be...& I had just turned 34. Finally, in Sept. 09 I realized something wasn't right. I also noticed my cycle's were coming every 21-23 days & they were out of control heavy! By Oct. I met w/an RE who ordered a battery of labwork, two scans, & labwork on my husband. My husband's SA came back w/a sperm morphology issue, I had a right blocked f. tube (dom.ovary), & the icing on the cake...I had autoimmune thyroiditis. Between all of this, the best overall chance for getting pregnant he gave us was if we did IVF. We successfully completed our 1st round of IVF in Jan. 10 w/one of two embryo transfer's implanting.

camila90 profile image
camila90

6 wks. later I miscarried due to the embryo failing to develop. We plan on our 2nd attempt in July...we'll see what happens! Now I find myself inundated w/friends & family getting pregnant & giving birth to 2nd & 3rd children.

Age is one of the main factors that can drive up a woman's risk of infertility, which affects approximately 10 percent of women between the ages of 15 to 44. By 40, a woman's chances of becoming pregnant drop from 90 to 67 percent; at 45, a woman has just a 15 percent shot

Infertility is a widespread problem. For about one in five infertile couples the problem lies solely in the male partner. It is estimated that one in 20 men has some kind of fertility problem with low numbers of sperm in his ejaculate. However, only about one in every 100 men has no sperm in his ejaculate.

Age is the most important factor affecting a woman's chance to conceive and have a healthy child. As women age their fertility declines. A woman's fertility starts to decline in her early 30s, with the decline speeding up after 35. At 40 a woman only has a 5% chance of becoming pregnant in any month.

Do you have sex when you are think you are ovulating? It is very easy to skip the fertile period if you are just having sex when you are ovulating. Samuel Wood, the medical director of Reproductive Sciences Center at La Jolla CA, advises to have sex as often as they like, and more frequently during few days before ovulation. If you have irregular periods or problem tracking your fertile windows use an ovulation kit. If the result show that ovulation will happen within 1 or 2 days then make sure to have sex during this time. Keep in mind, that if you just have sex for having baby in mind, then you can’t enjoy the process.

There are no internationally recognized laws for surrogacy, so many parents and children can be left vulnerable - or even stateless.

In Thailand, surrogates are seen as the legal mother, so if the parents leave the baby with the mother, she is legally responsible. This is one of the difficulties seen in the Gammy case, Ms Scott says.

It can take several months to bring a surrogate baby back to the parents' home country, as they may not be automatically recognized as the legal parents.

Healthy sperm can reach the egg in as little as thirty minutes. Once inside the female's body, sperm can live for several days. Females don't get pregnant immediately after having intercourse. It will take up to 6 days for the sperm and egg to join together and make a fertilized egg.so i guess you are having the internal an egg issue.

Twelve percent of all infertility cases are a result of a woman either being underweight or overweight. Fat cells produce estrogen, in addition to the primary sex organs. Too much body fat causes production of too much estrogen and the body begins to react as if it is on birth control, limiting the odds of getting pregnant. Too little body fat causes insufficient production of estrogen and disruption of the menstrual cycle. Both under and overweight women have irregular cycles in which ovulation does not occur or is inadequate.Proper nutrition in early life is also a major factor for later fertility.

Women may also sleep with other men in hopes of becoming pregnant. This can be done for many reasons including advice from a traditional healer, or finding if another man was "more compatible". In many cases, the husband was not aware of the extra sexual relations and would not be informed if a woman became pregnant by another man. This is not as culturally acceptable however, and can contribute to the gendered suffering of women who have fewer options to become pregnant on their own as opposed to men.

Men and women can also turn to divorce in attempt to find a new partner with whom to bear a child. Infertility in many cultures is a reason for divorce, and a way for a man or woman to increase his/her chances of producing an heir When a woman is divorced, she can lose her security that often comes with land, wealth, and a family. This can ruin marriages and can lead to distrust in the marriage. The increase of sexual partners can potentially result with the spread of disease including HIV/AIDS, and can actually contribute to future generations of infertility

But that doesn't mean that it is your fault if your husband thinks so leave him. He is blaming you for this it can be possible that only he is infertile. If you follow any religion just go and check if this is allowed in your religion? i don't think so it is allowed in your life.

Religious factors are there to be ignored when it comes to your happiness people with a mission or fate, religion has been used for their own purpose as I have seen people, why do people bring these kinds of situations in this particular topics? What does God say's? human beings happiness is everything and you should pursue happiness is life. People just like to misdirect people with their opinions and ideas. they don't see people's happiness. All they want is to create a topic and have fun until they are amazed at it.

cleasmith profile image

Never compare religion with sciences these two topics are completely different topics and people find their own convience in everything and everytime people dont follow these ideas. I would still see not to use such scientific procedures in life this will cause you alot in life and will not able to concive and give away your life for anyone just love your life and follow happiness and nothing else.

These guys have a very good support system with a proper environment and the doctors are really good at explaining things a friends of mine went to this clinic and was really happy with over all presentations and satisfying explanation, People like her should go and at least have a try at it. What if they might get lucky with any of the procedures and they might get a baby of their own. People should support these processes, as these people are not doing any thing bad they are just giving away happiness. They have a very low fee charges which are affordable and you have to go twice or thrice a month to have a proper diagnosis and tests, so that the doctor will understand the current situation and then they will continue the process.

Are trying the normal regular sex positions? Sometimes these things matter as we people start trying up new thing and end up in getting nothing. In this case, there is a possibility you both might not be infertile and can still conceive a baby. Sometimes the male sperms are directed in the right directions this also causes these kinds of issues. Did your doctor tell you about these all things? I think he would have if he doesn’t have told you any of these things, and then I would like you to contact a reliable person who is really a specialist in these matters. When you mention to friends and family that you’re “trying,” you’ll almost guaranteed to hear someone say, “Just relax and it will happen.” Easier said than done. Stress, good or bad, is going to take its toll on you both physically and mentally. Balance and calm are a crucial part of trying to conceive. “When you’re stressed your adrenal system takes a hit. Your body isn’t going to say, ‘Okay, let’s get pregnant.’ Learning to say no and to take time for yourself is important for improving your chances of having a baby.” “A lot of women think the best thing to do when you’re stressed is to take time off work. In my experience, that doesn’t help, because it makes a woman feel she has to get pregnant in that time and then the stress to get pregnant is so much higher,” she says. Instead of altering your day-to-day routine entirely, Karnis recommends counselling, art therapy, meditation and exercise to reduce stress levels.

Sleep is a really important factor that affects a lot both men and women, you already know that catching and adequate number of ZZZ makes the morning department meeting more bearable. Are you both having enough sleep? As sleep also affects the reproductive cycle, If you are not having proper sleep then you might get fever and excess amount of heat can damage the sperms temporarily, as the women who are not having enough sleep can also get anxious, which may cause anxious, this might get you miss your periods so keep yourself healthy is the bottom line, follow these steps if you haven’t and give it a shot again I’m sure you will succeed in the process.

But every women have a different cycle which vary in length. “The biggest thing is timing” You should know that ovulation is two weeks before your period. Most people think that it’s two weeks after, but that’s only if you have a four-week cycle. You’ll have better luck conceiving if you monitor ovulation and start having sex at the right time. We also find that a lot of people don’t know that lubricant decreases sperm motility and transfer, so you shouldn’t use lubricant when you’re trying to get pregnant,

Make sure to talk to your doctor about health problems you have now or have had in the past. If you are receiving treatment for a health problem, your health care provider might want to change the way your health problem is managed. For example, some medicines used to treat health problems could be harmful if taken during pregnancy. At the same time, stopping medicines that you need could be more harmful than the risks posed should you become pregnant. In addition, be sure to discuss any problems you had in any previous pregnancy. If health problems are under control and you get good prenatal care, you are likely to have a normal, healthy baby.

Ask your doctor about: l Family planning and birth control. l Taking folic acid. l Vaccines you may need. l Managing health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, obesity, depression, eating disorders, and asthma

Some women want children but either can’t conceive or keep miscarrying. This is called infertility. Both women and men can have fertility problems. Many things can affect fertility, including stress, smoking, STIs, and other health problems. Also, the older a woman becomes, the harder it is for her to get pregnant. Talk to your doctor if you have not been able to conceive after 1 year of trying, or after 6 months if you are 35 or older. Happily, doctors are able to help many infertile couples go on to have babies. Treatment can include: l lifestyle changes, such as reducing stress l medicine, such as those to help women ovulate l surgery to repair reproductive organs l assisted reproductive technology, such as in vitro fertilization Infertility can be stressful, tiring, and expensive. Many couples find that support groups or counseling can help them to cope

You are most likely to become pregnant if you have sex just before or just after ovulation. Most women ovulate between day 11 and day 21 of their menstrual cycle. Count day one as the first day of your last normal period. Most couples who are trying are able to conceive within 1 year. If you think you might be pregnant, you can take a home pregnancy test 1 to 2 weeks after a missed period. Your doctor can confirm pregnancy with a blood test and pelvic exam.
