Hi there

If the emergency contraceptive pill you took was was Levonelle, it works by delaying ovulation and the hormone progesterone could shorten bleeding. Your next normal period may be delayed, and you may experience some spotting. If you find that your next period is very late, you should do a pregnancy test 3 weeks after taking the emergency contraceptive pill .

If you are not already using a regular form of contraception it might be an idea to pop down to your local contraceptive and sexual health clinic to discuss starting one.

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Katherine
