I was wondering how long I can have unprotected sex before I got pregnant? Its been over a year and I'm starting to wonder will it ever happen? Not like I'm trying for it but it would be nice some time. Any advice?

Hi there

It can take a different amount of time to get pregnant for everybody so I would try not to worry too much. However, if you feel that it is something you have been worried about for a while it might be an idea to book an appointment with your GP and you can talk to them about your fertility.

Are you having unprotected sex with the same partner or different people? Because if you have been having unprotected sex with more than one person it would be a good idea to pop into your local contraceptive and sexual health clinic so that you can take an STI test and if you don't want to be pregnant right now it might also be a good idea to go on some form of contraception.

You can search for your local clinic here: fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Katherine
