I forgot to take my combined pill for 4 days. I had in protected sex yesterday and the night before. Today I got my period. Is there any chance I will be pregnant?

Hi Beth,

Did you stop taking your pill as part of your 7 day break? If so, you would have been covered in terms of contraception during those 7 days and it is unlikely that you would fall pregnant. However, if you are concerned you could take a pregnancy test 21 days after you had sex, or you could pop down to your local contraceptive clinic to discuss dates.

There is more information about how the combined pill works and what to do if you miss a pill outside of your 7 day break on the NHS website here:

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Katherine
