HELP!
Hi Crissa
Congratulations on trying for a baby! You're most likely to get pregnant if you have sex within a day or so of ovulation and this is usually about 14 days after the first day of your last period. So if your period started on the 18th November, you are looking at 2nd December. However, you don't have to have sex on the day of ovulation, as sperm can survive in the fallopian tubes for several days after sex and still fertilise the egg when it's released from the ovary. I would say that if you want to get pregnant, having sex every couple of days will mean there is always sperm waiting in the fallopian tubes to meet the egg when it's released. Additionally if you’ve decided to have a baby, you and your partner should make sure you’re both as healthy as possible and you should start taking a folic acid supplement.
I hope this helps
Best wishes
Katherine
Don't do all of this timing when you have sex to fit in with ovulation rubbish. I tried it for three years and nothing happened. In all honesty I got pregnant from just having sex whenever I wanted. My and my fiance have been wanting a child since we got together and have been trying every since. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant by just RELAXING about the process. Forcing the enjoyment of sex and the timing isn't going to help. They say the best way to get pregnant is to both orgasm at the same time. Fortunately, we do but if you don't then maybe try to discover ways to make it happen at the same time, try new positions. We were just having gun and enjoying our sex life and we perhaps only had sex about 5 times in the two months of us deciding to try again but to be relaxed about it. All I'm saying is, don't time it or make it a strict routine, keep it relaxed and fun and have sex as often as you want and you wont even realise that quite possibly you've ended up having sex near ovulation anyway.
Good luck and I hope I helped.

I completely agree with Leya- try not to worry about what days are the best and just enjoy having sex when you can find the time. x
