I had sex on Oct 19th, when I go to the bathroom there's mucus discharge. What are the possibilities of becoming pregnant? I've taken a test and it came back negative, but I'm tired a lot and nauseous. How long should I wait to take another test?

When did you take the test? Usually you’d have to wait 3-4 weeks after unprotected sex to take one. I would suggest taking another test this weekend and if it’s still negative perhaps you should go and have a chat with your GP or see if your period comes.

I took one last week and this week. If I was to have blood drawn, how long would it take for those results to come back?

Hi Mimi,

Blood tests for pregnancy are not very common, but using a home pregnancy tests after a missed period is incredibly effective. If your period is late and your pregnancy tests are still coming back negative and you are concerned, you should go and speak to your GP. Otherwise you should wait until the day of your missed period and retest. But if you are very anxious I would advise going to speak to a healthcare professional face to face at a family planning / contraceptive clinic or your GP as they will be able to discuss your dates with you and do a pregnancy test if appropriate.
