Hi there,

There is no evidence that microgynan causes weight gain. Some women feel the hormones make them more hungry, and some women may experience water retention which could explain your weight gain. It might be best to go and talk your concerns through with a contraceptive nurses at sexual health /contraceptive clinic or your GP as there may be a better pill for you, or you might want to consider another contraceptive method that suits you better. We have a guide to your contraceptive options here which might be of use: bpas.org/js/filemanager/fil...

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Katherine
